Welcome

Gloucestershire is one of the largest Federations and we are privileged to number amongst our 5000 members, HRH The Princess Royal and HRH The Duchess of Cornwall.

The WI offers women of all ages and backgrounds the chance to make new friends, take up new interests, learn new crafts and develop new skills

These can often be done from home, in your community, from your federation office, or within the local WI’s.

We like to think that the Gloucestershire Federation has something to offer everyone, from holidays, walks, visits, and clay pigeon shooting to hang gliding, but most of all we share fun and friendship.

What better way to make new friends than pursuing one of your interests with like-minded people.

You can do this by joining one of the 157 WI’s in Gloucestershire.  There is likely to be one near you.  Contact the Federation office and they will put you in touch with a WI Adviser to find the one which would suit you best.

We are lucky that we are close to our own residential adult educational facility, Denman College, where you could take time for yourself and just have a break, or learn from a huge range of courses including cookery, computing, painting, all in the company of other WI members.

Over the years WI’s have helped thousands of Women make their voices heard, and turn their concerns into campaigns by launching local initiatives and addressing national issues.  The WI is here to enable women like you to ‘make a difference’ – to the life you lead whether in your local community or the world you live in.

The Gloucestershire Federation was formed in 1919, and we are currently working on a very exciting programme to celebrate our 90th anniversary in 2009
.
Why join us NOW and be part of those celebrations – make that call today, you will be most welcome.
